Why This Matters
Runner safety is always our #1 priority. While we love consistency, there will be times when weather or other conditions make it unsafe to run. Captains should always err on the side of caution.
✅ Safe to Run (no cancelation needed)
Light rain if temps are above 50°F and no lightning
Normal seasonal temps (15°F–95°F feels-like)
AQI under 100 (Good–Moderate)
Manageable wind (under 20 mph)
⚠️ Use Caution / Modify Run
(Shorten distance, adjust pace, or swap to coffee/stretch hangout)
Rain with temps 45–50°F
Feels-like 15–25°F (bundle up, shorter route)
Feels-like 90–95°F (slow down, bring water)
AQI 100–150 (Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups)
Winds 20–25 mph sustained or gusts 25–35 mph
Packed snow/slush but not icy
🚫 Automatic Cancel (Always Cancel Run)
Lightning or thunder
Heavy rain with temps under 45°F (hypothermia risk)
Rain with wind + temps under 50°F
Icy / untreated roads or trails
Feels-like below 15°F (frostbite risk)
Heat index above 95°F (heat stroke risk)
Sustained winds above 25 mph or gusts over 35 mph
Air Quality Index above 150 (Unhealthy)
Poor visibility (dense fog, wildfire smoke, heavy snow)
